Aravindh, Krithikha Claim Junior Titles!



A new record was made at Goa. Aravindh Chithambaram of Tamil Nadu, the country's highest Under-12 rated player became the youngest to win the National Junior Championship that concluded at Goa on Sep 14.
In the girls section, 1992-born Pon N. Krithikha of Chennai won the title by a one-point margin scoring 9.5 points.

Final placings:

Open: 1 Aravindh Chithambaram (TN) 9/11; 2-4. P. Shyam Nikil (TN), Diptayan Ghosh (WB), Ankit Rajpara (Guj) 8.5 each; 5-8. S. Nitin (TN), Swayams Mishra (Ori), S.L. Narayanan (Ker), Gusain Himal (Chd) 8 each...135 players.

Girls: 1 Pon N. Krithikha (TN) 9.5/11; 2 Rucha Pujari (Mah) 8.5; 3-5. Ivana Furtado, Bhakti Kulkarni (both Goa), Pv. Nandhidhaa (TN) 8 each; 6-10. K. Sai Nirupama (AP), R. Bharathi (TN), Pallabi Roy (WB), B. Pratyusha (AP), Srija Seshadri (TN) 7.5 each...93 players.
